Mario Guitar

Who can ever forget the charming tune from the game of Super Mario Brothers (SMB1 to be exact).

Here’s a video of a Japanese dude who plays the Mario tune on an electric guitar. He slips at a few bits but it’s still amazing. Did I mention, there’re sound effects too?

This has been out for a year or more, so you may have already seen it.

Wait, there’s more!

Well, what more to brighten up your day with a bit of laughter.

Description
At the Comedy Barn in Pigeon Forge Tennessee a couple audience members are brought on stage to participate. Turns out the old guy in the middle has one of the funniest laughs I’ve ever heard in my life.

It’s true, I’ve never heard of anyone laugh like this before. Be sure to turn up the volume on this one.

Caution: This may make you go laughing for 9 minutes…

Look-Alikes!

If you’re a basketball fan, then you’d find this post rather amusing. On the link, you’d find many (in fact tons) of hoops-celeb look-alikes. Sorry to those non-basketball fans. But hey, there are celebs too! And many of whom you’d certainly recognize. In fact, there’s also hoops-rapper and hoops-sports look-alikes at the link.

Some are really mind boggling, makes you wonder… Some you probably knew all along, but just couldn’t quite put them together. Some you may think don’t look alike at all, some were probably just made up for fun.

Here are some random ones:

Indifference?

A story I read from my sister’s blog, actually a story my cousin told her while I wasn’t around. Well this cousin of mine just got back from China. The story is quite disturbing.

True or not, it’s up to you to believe. I’d say yes, but let’s not go into how I feel towards the story, like how my sister then got criticized and blasted with some crude comments.

Quoted from her blog:

My cousin just told me this story and I found it quite disturbing. It’s about the people in China and how they can be really indifferent and not care the least bit about anyone.

This story is true.

There was this lady who was a bus driver and drove long distance. She drove passengers from far, far in the vilages into the city, to and fro all the time. One day, carrying passengers with her to the city, three men stopped the bus, and they were actually thugs/thieves.

They wanted to rape her, and she called for help as she struggled. But none of the passengers acknowledged the poor woman. They ignored what was going on in the front of the bus! Can you believe that?!!?

Actually, at this point in the story, we believed that people in China really don’t give a damn, coz you only ask for trouble when you butt in.

But one man was brave enough to try to stop these thieves. Fortunately for the woman, they stopped and unfortunately for him, they bashed him up really badly and left the bus.

This lady continued driving the bus for a while, then suddenly stopped and forced the brave man to get off the bus. He got really confused and didn’t understand why. But she wouldn’t take no for an answer, and since she was the bus driver, he had to limp his way down the stairs of the bus.

Off the bus went, leaving a trail of sand in this man’s face.

Can you guess what happened next?

Microsoft Clippy, RIP: 1997 - 2007

15 02 2007

Remember how you used to get irritated whenever you started your copy of Microsoft Word, and then an annoying clip figure pops right out at the edge of the screen, or anywhere on the screen for that matter.

Annoying? Well, Mr. Clippy is no more - he’s… gone. Just look at his innocent, saddened face. In all the excitement (or lack of excitement) that’s been going on for Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 Launch, our friendly character from Microsoft has passed away and was almost forgotten.

We all knew him as Clippy, but perhaps you called him the Paper Clip Man. Always ready to help us brave the world of Office, the little guy was only there to serve us with tips and guides. Recall how you were clueless to start writing a letter and who was there to lend you a helping hand? Now Clippy has moved on and joined Microsoft Bob in the place where all phased out software icons pass on to.

Most people didn’t even notice (did you?). Some say good riddance. Sadly, it seems like most people I’ve asked actually harbored some dislikes for Clippy. I say - I miss Clippy! RIP old friend…

10 Reasons You Don’t Need Vista Today

14 02 2007

Just yesterday I made a post about Vista’s security hole. Well that could be added to this list.

If you’re thinking of upgrading to Windows Vista now, think again. Microsoft and their massive marketing campaign may have convinced you that is it now the right time to upgrade, but with all the hardware & software changes, application incompatibilities, hardware incompatibilities, game incompatibilities, high-price, etc - you’re bound to get in trouble.

To keep a long story short here are 10 reasons why you don’t really need to upgrade to Vista yet:

Vista Security Hole Discovered

13 02 2007
Tag:, , ,

All hyped up about Windows Vista’s feature and security? Well, don’t go boasting around yet…

It seems that the security honeymoon for Microsoft’s Windows Vista operating system has ended early, after it was discovered that a flaw in Vista could allow remote attackers to take advantage of the new operating system’s speech recognition feature. According to researchers who are still investigating on the flaw, the vulnerability could allow an attacker to use the speech recognition feature to run malicious programs on Vista systems using prerecorded verbal commands. Like Tetris?

12 02 2007

Remember when you used to hook up that Nintendo (NES) system and play a few rounds of Tetris, or even grabbed your handheld Tetris to play in the car, school, etc.

Those were the times eh? Everyone has played Tetris before, I can’t think of anyone who hasn’t. Even my mom is an expert - and truthfully, her skills in Tetris are perhaps 10 times better than mine. I remember when it used to be me teaching her how to stack those blocks on one another.

And suffice to say, there are many different versions of Tetris. But I bet you haven’t seen this one before… muahaha!

This is actually a funny Japanese video of Tetris I found not too long ago. Quite entertaining I must say. Boy the Japanese really are something…

Another Cool JavaScript Trick

What? Another JavaScript effect?

I found this other neat stuff to do with JavaScript, so I just had to post this. No too similar, but similarly cool. To do it, follow the steps below:

  1. Goto any webpage/website (yes any!).
  2. Paste the following code onto the address bar and then hit Enter:

  3. Finally click on any text, image, button, etc on the webpage. The page has now become editable.

Whoever came up with the code is quite a genius.
