King of Fighters Spoof

Tag:, , ,

Last month I posted about the real-life Street Fighter series. You can find it here - Street Fighter: The Later Years
This time, it’s the real-life King of Fighters!

It’s quite good and funny, with all the somersaults, combos, fireballs, backgrounds, bonuses, and flying head.
Well I’ll not spoil it for you, enjoy watching.

King of Fighters Spoof

It isn’t fully KOF actually, since there’s Sakura.
Sakura is from the Street Fighter series! And man, they should’ve asked a girl to play her role…

Super Mario Brothers 3 in 11 minutes

I’ve always wanted to post this, but have been hesitant. Then again I thought, “why not?!”
I love playing the Super Mario games (who doesn’t?), and this is some amazing video.
Sure you must have seen this before as it came out a couple of years ago, but it’s well worth a second look.

There has been alot of controversy on whether this is real or fake.
This is because there was not a single mistake done by this player Morimoto, every move/stunt was perfect.

Some say it was played on an emulator (software on PC to emulate the game consoles), so that the game can be saved and reloaded constantly.
Some also say it’s fake because they cannot simulate the stunts that were pulled in this video. But I have personally tried these tricks before, and yes they can be done.

Whether or not it was played on an actual NES console, or was constantly saved and reloaded using an emulator - this is still pretty amazing.
Real or fake, up to you to believe it.

Super Mario Brothers 3 in 11 minutes

The most awesome thing is that he kept getting the 1UP (free life) by jumping on the bombs non-stop, even when he was without the racoon tail, and just the flower power (fireball). Sorry I don’t know how to describe it better.

In case you didn’t know, these are called “speed demos”. Thousands of gamers practise playing their favourite games day by day as fast as they can, just for the fun or it or for bragging rights.
You’ll be seeing more of this.

Microsoft Shows Off Rival to Flash, QuickTime

25 04 2007

Microsoft on Monday showed video pros at NAB Silverlight, a new Mac and PC-compatible Web browser plug-in that provides interactive Web capabilities similar to how Adobe Flash works with streaming video capabilities superior to QuickTime, according to the company.

Microsoft will provide a beta of Silverlight later this month with plans for its general release to follow. A “technology preview” is available for download.

Silverlight lets content creators incorporate video and animation into their Web content. It provides a method for displaying vector-based graphics, text, animation, media and overlays. Silverlight doesn’t require any special back-end Web environment to deploy — it integrates with existing infrastructure tools such as Apache and PHP, JavaScript and XHTML.

Formerly code-named WPF/E, Silverlight is targeted at content providers who want to distribute video and rich media on the Web and designers and developers working with interactive applications. The software works on the Mac using either Mozilla Firefox or Apple’s own Safari Web browser. On Windows, it also supports Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 7.

Already Microsoft has signed up some major players to distribute Silverlight content, including Akamai Technologies, Brightcove, Eyeblaster, Major League Baseball and Netflix.

The company has developed a companion toolset called Expression to help develop Silverlight content. Expression — Windows-only — has been positioned as an alternative to Adobe’s Creative Suite 3 software, and is expected to be released in June. Preview releases are available for download now.

Microsoft has previously positioned Silverlight as able to match Adobe Flash in more traditional rich media ares, but a recent statement from Forest Key, a director of product management at Microsoft’s server and tools division whose bona fides include a senior management stint at Flash developer Macromedia, suggested that Silverlight is superior on the video front.

Flash has “some video capabilities, and some success in that market,” Key said. But Silverlight offers “better video quality than Flash,” while the Expression tools will be “cheaper, faster and better” than Adobe’s offerings, he claimed.

Silverlight can play video at 720P high-definition quality — the same 720-line resolution used by DVDs. Depending on bandwidth, videos start playing either immediately or after a few seconds of caching. That ensures that picture quality doesn’t degrade, Key said.

Silverlight employs the VC-1 video codec originally developed by Microsoft as Windows Media Video 9, now available as an open standard. VC-1 is technically superior to other codecs such as MPEG-4, which is used by QuickTime, especially in the area of digital rights management (DRM), according to John Bromhead, vice president of marketing at Tarari, a San Diego-based maker of high-end video hardware that is supporting Silverlight.

Those content protection features make VC-1-based systems such as Silverlight and Windows Media Video more attractive to movie studios and others conscious about protecting their content and/or making money from it, said Kathleen Maher, an analyst at Tiburon, Calif.-based Jon Peddie Research. And while Microsoft is aggressively going past the PC to get cable set-top boxes to run Silverlight, she said, “that’s a race that Apple is just starting.”

System requirements for Silverlight call for a G3/500MHz or faster (Intel included) and Firefox 1.5.08 or later or Safari 2.0.4 or later.

Genius Parrot

We all love to watch, listen to, and play with parrots.
Once you meet with one, you’d likely say “Hello” to the bird.

This is about a genius parrot named Einstein that appeared on Animal Planet.
I think it is of the African Grey breed which is why it is such a smart parrot, as African Greys are undeniably one of the most intelligent birds. Still though, gotta compliment the trainers for the hard work.

Enjoy this one, quite entertaining.
Charmingly cute!

Talking Parrot

I love the parts where he mimics the fall and then with a *splat*, and the spaceship with a laser “bee bee bee beeeu!”
And the evil laugh “ha… ha… ha…”, and of course “Superstar!”

Get Outta My Way!

Here’s how you can annoy the heck out of Japanese people.

Well not really annoy, and not really just Japanese people.
This is a cool way of making somebody move out of your way when you’re in a hurry.
Use this especially if you’re in a country where people do travel using bicycles.

Again I have to say, the Japanese really are something. The things that they come up with…
It’s pretty interesting to see people move out of the way just like that, even on escalators.
And in the supermarket too!

$20,000 Bet!

I go back to my roots. Well not exactly my roots, just what I love most - basketball!
Can’t get enough of it…

This video was released 2 months ago. It’s about a US$20,000 bet between NBA teammates (Washington Wizards) Gilbert Arenas vs. DeShawn Stevenson. Yea, 20k dollars is just like petty cash for these professional sportsmen.

The challenge was plain simple - 3-point shootout.
Shoot 100 3-pointers and get the most balls in. 20k easy.

The bet took place after the Wizards (daily?) practice.
Gilbert Arenas went on to shoot first. And he did ALL HIS SHOTS 1-HANDED!

The comedy, subbed Debu version of the popular Japanese thriller Death Note.

I’ve never really watched Death Note before, but this still is hilarious regardless.

Asians Are Funny!

Back to more videos, funny ones that is.

This one is called Asians Are Funny. But to me, it’s more like the Japanese Are Funny.
Because they are! I really laughed hard at this one. Be sure to turn the volume up.

Asians Are Funny

Man, these people go to certain extremes just for a good laugh. And that’s just what everyone needs.

The first scene was cute where the old man just ignored the whole bunch.

Windscreen Crack!

16 04 2007
Tag:, , , ,

I seldom post stuff about myself.
Well this post is an exception as something out of the ordinary happened to me.

That’s right, my car windscreen cracked and shattered. It didn’t happen while the car was parked, but while I was driving!
It took place yesterday. I was driving along Jalan Mahameru (sorry for those who’re unfamiliar), and going with speeds as I normally would. There were 3 lanes and I was driving at the right most (fastest) lane.

All of a sudden, I heard a loud *pop*. It sounded like a large balloon had burst inside a box.
Next thing I knew, I was seeing varied patterns in front of me. It stunned me for a moment, and then I realized I could not see anything but just patterns…

Quickly I turned on the hazard lights, and slowly maneuvered the car to the side lane just by making use of the rear view mirror and barely squinting through the tiny openings on the windscreen. The only thing I could hear was the constant sound of the windscreen cracking, like the sound of ice in a freezer.
Good thing that was all that happened. I thank God for my exceptional driving skills haha!

Most people say it’s because of stones that cracked the glass. Some experts tell me the extreme heat + cold air-conditioning may cause this. I believe it to be the former as my car was parked shaded and the air-conditioning system sucks.

Does your grandma blog? Heck, does your grandma even use a computer? What about your parents then?
Okok, do you even have a blog yourself?

No offense. I’m going to sidetrack a little bit in this post.
This time it’s about a funny, hilarious blog I came across - Real Lao Zha Bor speaks…

Lao Zha BorA grandma from Singapore actually blogs like a pro and is very popular just to note! True or not, whether it’s publicity stunt I don’t know, but seems pretty real to me. She was even interviewed by Singapore’s The Sunday Newpaper? >_<

In her blog, she talks about her daily endeavours, posts pics and is quite a model too.
She also has a close friend JingJing and they're quite funny together.

Read more below for video and cool stuff!
