Google’s April Fool’s Jokes
2 04 2007Did you get fooled yesterday?
Yesterday 2 of my sites (including this) went down, but it was no April Fool’s joke trust me!
Their domains actually expired and I totally forgot to renew them. But it’s all good now…
Anyway, Google takes April Fool’s Day seriously. And I for one, was actually fooled haha! Here are some of the pranks Google pulled. I’m sure I missed some other ones too.

Google TiSP Beta
FREE in-home wireless broadband service. 8Mbps for the free subscription, and up to 32Mbps for the paid subscriptions!
Best thing is, you can connect your wireless router to one of thousands of TiSP Access Nodes via fiber-optic cable strung through your local municipal sewage lines! Haha~
I was fooled by this one. For a moment I thought Malaysians have a hope of kicking TMnut in the a$$. But Google TiSP was ’supposedly’ available for citizens in the US and Canada only, so…

Google Jobs - Lunar Job
Google is interviewing candidates for engineering positions at our lunar hosting and research center, opening late in the spring of 2007. This unique opportunity is available only to highly-qualified individuals who are willing to relocate for an extended period of time, are in top physical condition and are capable of surviving with limited access to such modern conveniences as soy low-fat lattes, The Sopranos and a steady supply of oxygen. This one is a no-brainer…

Google Technology - PigeonRank
I didn’t read about this too much. But according to Google, the heart of Google’s speed and accurate search results is based on their PigeonRank technology.
PigeonRank’s success relies primarily on the superior trainability of the domestic pigeon (Columba livia) and its unique capacity to recognize objects regardless of spatial orientation. The common gray pigeon can easily distinguish among items displaying only the minutest differences, an ability that enables it to select relevant web sites from among thousands of similar pages. -__-
