Happy Tree Friends - A to Zoo

Can’t believe I hadn’t posted about this before.
Happy Tree Friends, a cartoon animation series by Mondo Mini shows - is not really for the faint-hearted. Also as indicated on the official site, the show is “not recommended for small children”.

The series is extremely violent, with every episode featuring blood, gore, and violent deaths. But funnily, the characters come back to life after each episode. Since its debut the show has become a popular internet phenomenon and has won a cult following.

I still remember about more than 5 years ago, when I used to patiently download all of their episodes off my 56k line. -__-
Of course if you’re like me, you’ll be in it for the gore, humor and wittiness.
And hey if you follow the episodes closely, there’re some storylines to keep up with too - ie you’ll have to watch some prior episodes to understand the ones following. There’re seasons, finales, etc.

Here’s 1 of the many episodes, broken down into 2 parts.

Happy Tree Friends gained its own TV show in 2006. It was first shown at Comic-Con, 2006 and some of the segments were shown on the website a few weeks prior the show’s premiere. The Happy Tree Friends TV series premiered on September 25, 2006 at midnight on G4.

Japanese Giant Hornets

Regarded as one of the most dangerous bugs in the world, this species is a real killer.
Following descriptions taken from the source link below.

Why you must fear it:
It’s the size of your thumb and it can spray flesh-melting poison. We really wish we were making that up for, you know, dramatic effect because goddamn, what a terrible thing a three-inch acid-shooting hornet would be, you know? Oh, hey, did we mention it shoots it into your eyes? Or that the poison also has a pheromone cocktail in it that’ll call every hornet in the hive to come over and sting you until you are no longer alive?

Think you can outrun it? It can fly 50 miles in a day. It’d be nice to say something reassuring at this point, like “Don’t worry, they only live on top of really tall mountains where nobody wants to live,” but no, they live all over the goddamned place, including outside Tokyo.

Forty people die like that every year, each of them horribly.

More scary shit:
Here’s how the Japanese hornet treats other insects (and would presumably treat us, if we were small enough). An adult hornet will fly miles to find some squishy shit to feed to its children. Often times, it finds its food in, say, a hive inhabited by thousands of bees.

What to do? Well, Vespa japonica sprays the nest with some of the acid/pheromone and brings in reinforcements, usually consisting of 30 or so fellow hornets. They then descend upon the beehive like an unholy plague of hell-born death engines and proceed to make this world a scary goddamned place. This is maybe 30 wasps against 30,000 bees and the 30,000 bees do not stand a chance.

Kenny George - 7 Foot 7 Inch Basketball Player

Well, back to my favorite sport basketball.
But this is a post about someone named Kenny George. Taken from Wikipedia:
“Kenny George is a basketball center who currently plays for the University of North Carolina at Asheville (UNCA) Bulldogs. At 7 ft 7 in (2.31 m), he is the tallest college basketball player in the United States and is believed to have the biggest foot of any basketball player in the world at U.S. shoe size 28.”

Some say he’s actually 7′8″. His playing actually defeats the whole purpose of hard work basketball… >_<
He can't run fast, he can't jump high, and he can't really shoot the basketball (not that he needs to). He can only score within a few feet from the rim. But oh well. No point criticizing someone who's naturally that way.

He is really something. Looking at him I'd call him Big Foot.
Searching YouTube I found several videos of him no doubt. Watch how easily he dunks the basketball, it’s like just reaching his hands above his head. He’d really make Shaquille O’Neal look like a shorty. Though Yao Ming is just 1 inch shorter than Kenny, Kenny does look alot taller I wonder why…

Just today while I was using Yahoo! for some search purposes, I came across one of their featured highlights. It was published on their front page.

Celebrities Without Makeup, now that’s news! Or not actually.
Magazines and tabloids always have these, so instead they’re “olds”. But somehow you’d always want to take a look at the pictures haha~
Let’s you see a side of these famous people you don’t really get to see often.

Instead of posting the pics 1 by 1, here’s a video - much easier. And there’re lots more pictures in this video too.

OMG, look at how different Tyra Banks looks! O_o

This you must see! Haha~

A video spoof shown during the CES 2008 Keynote by Bill Gates about his last full day at Microsoft in July.

And you’ll be surprised at who appears in the video spoof. Starring Bill Gates himself, Brian Williams, Steve Ballmer, Matthew McConaughey, Robbie Bach, Jay-Z, Bono, Steven Spielberg, George Clooney, Jon Stewart, Kevin Turner, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Al Gore, Ray Ozzie and Craig Mundie - all famous celebrities.

It’s amazing who they can call for guest appearances in the name of Bill Gates. But hey, gotta give face to the richest man in the world.

Enjoy this one, I know I did…

Learn How To Speak Thai

A funny video on learning how to speak Thai, more specifically how to pronounce the colors in Thai.
It features popular Hong Kong actress Sandra Ng Kwun Yu and Tony Jaa (from Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior and Tom-Yum-Goong). The other guy is also a Hong Kong actor (DJ?) but I do not know his name.

I hope nobody takes this the wrong way. This is not a means of making fun of the Thai language. In the video Tony Jaa also seemed very sporting.

If you understand Cantonese, then this video is for you. I find it really hilarious.

Terry Fator

Here’s a series of videos featuring probably the best ventriloquist in the world ever, Terry Fator.
These are from the American reality television series America’s Got Talent, which features amateur singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other performers of all ages competing for the advertised top prize of US$1 million.

Watch how multi-talented Terry Fator is. Most ventriloquists you see are pretty good at what they can do. But Terry can basically impersonate, sing, and ventriloquize at the same time. A true artist who’s trying to bring ventriloquism back to the mainstream.

Here’re 3 of his videos. More to come in the following days.

You’ve probably seen the Matrix Ping Pong and Japanese Slow Motion Food Fight done by the Japanese. Check this link if you haven’t before: Matrix Food Fight

The Japanese are back with their human special effects performance, this time featuring the Olympic highlights. Could’ve been better in my opinion, but still amazing. What do these Japanese eat there?
